Harold Perrineau Joins "The Rookie" as Detective Nick Armstrong

Season 2 Premiere Introduces New Character to Popular Cop Drama

Los Angeles, CA - Sept. 28, 2018

Emmy-nominated actor Harold Perrineau has joined the cast of ABC's hit cop drama "The Rookie" as Detective Nick Armstrong. Perrineau's character, a seasoned detective with a mysterious past, will make his first appearance in the Season 2 premiere on September 29.

In the upcoming season, Officer John Nolan (Nathan Fillion) will find himself questioning his place in the Los Angeles Police Department after the death of his close friend and mentor, Nick Armstrong. As Nolan struggles to cope with his loss, he will discover more about Armstrong's past and the secrets he has been keeping.

"Harold is a phenomenal actor, and we are thrilled to have him join our cast," said showrunner Alexi Hawley. "His character, Nick Armstrong, will bring a new depth and complexity to the show, and we can't wait to see what he does in this role."

Perrineau is best known for his roles as Michael Dawson on "Lost" and Lionel Luthor on "Smallville." He has also starred in films such as "The Matrix," "28 Weeks Later," and "Zero Dark Thirty."

The Rookie Season 2 premieres on ABC on Sunday, September 29 at 10:00 p.m. EST.
