Art HistoryClassics Library at UC Berkeley

Supporting Research for History of Art Students and Faculty

New Additions and Collection Highlights

The Art HistoryClassics Library, located within Doe Library on the 3rd floor, is a valuable resource for students and faculty in the departments of History of Art and Art. The library contains most of the basic source material texts and periodicals for classical history art.

The Visual Resources Collection (VRC) is a particularly significant component of the Art HistoryClassics Library. The VRC adds approximately 5000 images per year to the collection, based largely on faculty requests. These images support research and teaching in a wide range of art history disciplines.

The Art Library Project serves the UC Berkeley campus community, including art students and faculty, as well as the general public. The library staff is dedicated to providing access to the resources and services that support research and scholarship in the field of art history.
